Focaccia Bread!

The ultimate bread for beginners! For easy delicious focaccia, you can prepare the dough the night before and refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours or make it in 3 hours if you’re in a rush.

This simple pantry staple ingredient recipe requires only 10 minutes of hands-on time.



INGREDIENTS
500g all-purpose flour or bread flour
10g salt kosher salt
8g dried yeast
470ml lukewarm water
4 tablespoons olive oil, divided
Flaky sea salt, such as Maldon
Herbs of your choice (fresh rosemary, oregano, thyme)

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Make the dough: In a large bowl, sieve together the flour, salt, and yeast then add the water and use a rubber spatula to create the sticky dough ball.
2. Rub the surface of a clean bowl with oil, place the dough inside and rub lightly with olive oil.
3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator immediately for at least 12 hours.
4. Line a baking tray with baking paper and grease with with olive oil.
5. Place the dough in the lined tray, cover with a clean tea towel or glad wrap and let proof for 40 minutes (The dough should double with each proof).
6. Stretch the dough as wide as you can and fold each corner into the centre, place back into the lined tray, cover, and let proof for another 40 minutes.
7. Repeat the stretch and fold and leave to proof for another 40 minutes.
8. Preheat the oven to 200ºC
9. Pour the remaining olive oil over your dough and season with the herbs of your choice, and using your fingers, press straight down to create deep dimples. Season with salt and herbs of your choice.
10. Transfer to oven immediately and bake for 25 minutes or until golden all around. Remove focaccia from the oven and place on cooling racks.
11. Let cool for 10 minutes before cutting into and enjoying your creation!
