2 Ingredient Chocolate Mousse
Wondering how it's done? It's quite simple: melt chocolate with water, then whisk the mixture over an ice bath. While whisking, air bubbles get trapped within the cocoa butter's fat particles. As the temperature decreases, these bubbles solidify, resulting in a silky, mousse-like texture.
It's honestly kind of like magic. It's ideal for plant-based eaters because we can enjoy mousse without the typical ingredients!
2 Ingredient Chocolate Mousse:
Ingredients:
265 g of dark chocolate, chopped
1 cup (240 ml) of water
Instructions:
1. Set up a large mixing bowl over another one filled with ice and cold water.
2. In a small saucepan over low heat, gently melt the dark chocolate and water until it forms a smooth mixture. Ensure not to let it reach boiling point, just melt it until smooth.
3. Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the large bowl and whisk vigorously until the mousse starts to thicken.
4. Be cautious not to over-whisk as it could result in a grainy texture. If this occurs, simply re-melt the chocolate mixture and restart the whisking process.
5. Serve the dark chocolate mousse immediately or store it covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
