Maple Roasted Carrots: The Perfect Side Dish for Your Christmas Feast!

Impress your family and friends with this deliciously easy dish that adds a touch of sweetness to your festive spread.

MAPLE ROASTED CARROTS:

1.5 kg carrots, peeled and chopped
3 tablespoons olive oil
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
1/2 tablespoon onion powder
1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
1/2 tablespoon thyme
2-3 tablespoons maple syrup
Water (a small amount for the baking tray)

Steps
1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
2. Peel and chop the carrots, then lay them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
3. Drizzle olive oil over the carrots and sprinkle with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and thyme.
4. Add a small amount of water to the tray. This helps to create steam and prevent the carrots from drying out.
5. Bake the carrots in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
6. Remove the tray from the oven and drizzle maple syrup over the carrots. Toss the carrots to ensure they are evenly coated with the syrup.
7. Place the tray back in the oven and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes or until the carrots are caramelised to your liking.

We topped with fresh Thyme. Yum!
